Sweet Creek Cottage is a charming historical cottage that was built in 1920 on the foundations of the Veivers beach hut. The Veivers family were the the first family to establish Palm Cove and the hut was used in the early 1900’s as the family’s holiday home. After World War II, the hut was turned into a canecutter’s barracks for local workers.
Lovingly restored in recent years into an elegant beachside home with fully upgraded facilities, Sweet Creek Cottage provides spacious accommodation for up to three couples or for a getaway with the children, catering for up to 6 guests in total. Two master bedrooms offer luxurious king sized beds and ensuites, with the third bedroom offering a queen bed with direct access to a half bathroom.
For a balance of work and leisure, the cottage has a dedicated office space with beautiful views of the tropical garden.
The Cottage is perfect for couples getting married in Palm Cove to enjoy a romantic stay close to first-class wedding venues. It is also the ideal base to self-drive from or join one of the many tours that depart daily from Palm Cove to nearby world-class attractions such as the Great Barrier Reef and the beautiful Daintree Rainforest.
Offering all of the comforts of home, you can relax in airconditioned comfort, cook in the fully-equipped kitchen or lounge by the private pool. In the cooler months, enjoy the heated pool and choose between two decks to enjoy a family BBQ or dinner with friends.
Cycle to the esplanade or local beaches using the bicycles supplied at the Cottage or relax at home, streaming movies from any room in the house or on the deck while having a cool drink in the pool.
Pets are welcome and the yard is fully enclosed for their safety. Parking is under cover on-site and your belongings are protected by the Cottage’s modern security system.
Families with young children can relax, knowing that all equipment for their baby or toddler is supplied. Young children can also enjoy the wide range of pool toys, games and scooters. No need for Mums and Dads to pack up the entire house to bring with them on holidays. Pool towels are also provided and the cottage offers a fully equipped laundry.
A 20-minute drive from the airport, 25 minutes from the centre of Cairns and a 45-minute drive to Port Douglas, Sweet Creek Cottage is the perfect location for exploring all that Cairns and its surrounds have to offer.
